Traveling Patients - Fly-in for Surgery

bodySCULPT® has the ideal solution for patients who do not live in New York, but wish to have blepharoplasty (upper eyelid surgery) done at our office. Our fly-in patient program enables patients from all over the world to achieve their body contouring goals. Our New York City location is easily accessible and we have many patients routinely flying in for surgery. This is a wonderful opportunity to avail of the services of experienced doctors at bodySCULPT® who combine traditional plastic surgery and advanced technology and techniques to create a perfect “YOU.”

At bodySCULPT® , we can assist you in planning each aspect of your fly-in program ranging from travel arrangements to hotel accommodations to online or over-the-phone consultations. You can also make your own arrangements, if that is more convenient. You can fly-in on a convenient date, based on your schedule. The entire program takes place in three steps:

Step One - Initial Consultation

You have the options of visiting our doctor at our New York City office for an initial in-person consultation. Initial consultation is an important part of the process as it helps our doctors determine the future course of action. This is also the time when you will be given instructions as to how to prepare for the surgery; you will also be informed about the time required for recovery. Those finding it difficult to travel can arrange for an educational and informative virtual consultation over the internet with one of our non-physician staff members.

The purpose of the virtual consultation is to provide you an opportunity to obtain more information about the plastic surgery procedures to assist you in deciding whether to travel to our New York City office for an initial in-person consultation with one of our plastic surgeons.

In addition, the virtual consultation enables us to obtain from you certain preliminary information about your medical history and medical condition which our plastic surgeons can review subsequent to your virtual consultation but prior to your in-person consultation to assist them in determining your eligibility for the plastic surgery treatment. If, after conducting a virtual consultation, you are still interested in obtaining any plastic surgery procedures we offer at bodySCULPT® , the next step would be to schedule an in-person consultation with one of our plastic surgeons.

Step Two – Scheduling the Visit and Pre-Surgery Examination

The initial consultation will help you decide whether you want to go ahead with the surgical procedure. Once you have decided, we will explain the scheduling options and provide assistance with accommodation arrangements. A pre-surgery medical examination will be conducted by one of bodySCULPT’s trained plastic surgeons to confirm your medical eligibility for surgery. To secure dates for surgery, you are required to pay a deposit by either check or credit card. The final payment can be made at the pre-operative visit.

Shortly after your bodySCULPT® treatment is scheduled, you will receive copies of various consent forms and useful instructions which you can go through. On the first day you arrive, one of our plastic surgeons will meet with you to conduct a detailed pre-operative medical examination, give you pre and post-operative instructions and go over the consent forms with you. After we have explained everything and addressed all your queries and concerns, you can sign the consent forms.

Step Three - Surgery and recovery

The scheduled surgery will be performed the next day by one of bodySCULPT’s trained surgeons. We usually advise our patients to remain in New York City approximately 7-10 days to ensure a safe recovery.
